Start your path to a lucrative role as a Retrofit Assessor, or kick-start a career in construction, housing or planning with the retrofitting skills and knowledge that employers are looking for.

At the end of January 2025, we’re offering a free 10-day course that will earn you a Level 2 qualification in Understanding Domestic Retrofit (awarded by ETCAL), plus the opportunity to secure full-time employment in the Liverpool region with fantastic local companies like Wates and Construction Partners.

What will I learn?

This ETCAL Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit qualification is made up of 3 units that will provide you with the knowledge of why retrofit is so important to environmental sustainability, what it is including the principles, standards, regulations, roles and materials.

The units you will study over the 10-day course are titled:

Domestic Retrofit Drivers, Processes, and Roles
Domestic Retrofit Principles, Materials, and Tools
Domestic Retrofit Performance, Standards, and Regulations

What is the end outcome?

When you complete the course, you will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and resources to begin a career within industries such as construction, housing and planning. Or, you can move on to further education to achieve higher certifications and advance your understanding of retrofitting. Am I guaranteed a job at the end?

Upon successful completion of the training, we will help you prepare for a guaranteed job interview with one of our trusted employee connections in the industry who are looking to take on people with this domestic retrofit qualification.

Are you eligible?

Aged 19+
Must be a resident of the Liverpool City Region
If unemployed must be in receipt of state benefits (UC/JSA/ESA/Income Support)
If employed must be earning less than £33,958.60
Must have a full valid UK driving license
