Working your way towards to your Team Leader Level 3

Team leaders chatting outside their office building

Invest in your people. Offer your colleagues practical career progression and the formal training they need to be an effective Team Leader or Supervisor. Or, if you’re interested in this apprenticeship for your own development, talk to your manager about getting you enrolled. Organisations can fund this training via their apprenticeship levy pot (if they have an annual salary bill over £3 million pounds). If your business doesn’t have a levy, they can still make a small contribution towards the costs (just 5% of the training) with the Government funding the rest!

This apprenticeship gives anyone the tools to move into a leadership role with confidence or develop on their existing knowledge and skills. By the end of their qualification, learners will be able to prove their prowess in managing projects, delivering operational plans, supporting & developing team members, and more.

Apprenticeships allow you to combine work and study by mixing on-the-job training with classroom learning. You’ll be employed to do a real job while studying for a formal qualification.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll hopefully have gained the skills and knowledge needed to either succeed in your chosen career or progress onto the next apprenticeship level. You’ll also be allowed a minimum of 6 hours off-the-job learning to develop your knowledge & skills.

Our Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship covers all of the follow knowledge, skills and behaviours:

  • Leading people
  • Managing people

You or your employees will work towards gaining a Level 3 Team Leader qualification.

This apprenticeship is also a great opportunity to work towards chartership as, once they’ve completed and passed the training, apprentices can register with the Chartered Management Institute or Institute of Leadership and Management.

We mostly recommend this apprenticeship for those already in a job, as the business will be able to use their apprenticeship levy or contribute towards the costs.

This training is also a conscientious way to move from a team member role into a team leader or supervisor role with a higher level of responsibilities and required skills.

Those who are currently team leaders but didn’t receive the proper training first will also benefit from this practical, knowledge-packed apprenticeship. It’s ideal for enhancing job satisfaction and career progression prospects.

Are you eligible?

  • Learners must hold a Level 1 or above in both English and Maths. (If you don’t hold a Level 2 in these subjects, you will need to achieve this before your end-point assessment, which is around 13 months into the apprenticeship.)
