Our Liverpool-based construction courses are the perfect first step into the construction industry. Delivered right here in Knowsley, you’ll train in a real-world setting and gain qualifications recognised across the Liverpool City Region

According to Nomis, construction makes up 4.4 % of jobs across the city region and is one of the fastest-growing sectors. Temping Agency reports the region will need 5,000 new construction workers by 2025 to meet demand from regeneration and infrastructure projects making now the perfect time to train in construction that will then open doors to further specialist training in trades like domestic retrofit, plumbing, floor fitting, and utilities.

This programme has been funded by the Liverpool City Region combined Authority’s Adult Skills Fund

What will I learn?

Skills & Knowledge:

Basic bricklaying
Health and safety essentials
Asbestos awareness
Environmental awareness in construction
Site tours and guest speakers

Qualifications:

Level 1 Award in Building and Construction Bricklaying
Level 1 Award in Recycling and Waste Management
Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in Construction Environment

You’ll leave with practical knowledge and a clear next step toward employment or further training.

What is the end outcome?

As part of your course, we’ll book your CSCS test and provide you with a CSCS mock test to help you prepare. Once you’ve completed the full 10-day course with 100% attendance and passed the test, you’ll receive your Green CSCS Card, which is essential for working on a construction site.

Your Pathway to Site Work

Attend and complete the 10-day construction course (100% attendance required)
Take and pass your CSCS test (booked for you)
Receive your Green CSCS Card
Get support with finding a job in construction

You’ll also receive ongoing guidance and access to local job opportunities, tailored to your goals.

Am I guaranteed a job at the end?

Once you have successfully completed this training, there is the opportunity to secure a work placement on one of Vistry’s sites, as well as support securing a local job in Construction.

Are you eligible?

Aged 19+
Must be a resident of the Liverpool City Region
If unemployed must be in receipt of state benefits (UC/JSA/ESA/Income Support)
If employed must be in receipt of low wages (lower than £35,864.40 and able to evidence this)
Must not have any previous construction qualifications
