Complete Skills Solutions partnered with The Better Health Generation (TBHG) to deliver two workshops focused on practical strategies for stress recovery and achieving a better work-life balance.
The wellbeing workshops were delivered in West Yorkshire through Complete Skills Solutions’ Stepping Stones programme. Funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority, this programme supports participants to move closer to employment through carefully tailored interventions.
The Better Health Generation brings their extensive experience as leaders in the Health & Employability sector to this collaboration. Because TBHG works with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, including those who are economically inactive and furthest from the labour market, their involvement in the formation and delivery of the workshops is perfectly aligned with Stepping Stones’ mission and pathways.
The workshops feed into the ‘Head Space’ pathway that Stepping Stones offers. This is a learning pathway that aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and understanding of how to successfully develop strategies to manage their wellbeing and emotions.
Fay Gibbin, Head of Projects at Complete Skills Solutions, had this to say about this unique partnership:
“The Better Health Generation is one of our trusted partners on our Stepping Stones programme They provide an invaluable service to our participants, who we feel will benefit from healthcare assessments and access to their range of services.
We’re delighted that The Better Health Generation was a key part of our wellness workshops held at Bradford and Knottingley Community Shops; providing practical advice and support around mental wellbeing.”
Zoe Williams, a counsellor with TBHG who delivered the Knottingley workshop, adds:
“At the Better Health Generation, our deep understanding of the barriers individuals face when entering employment allows us to create tailored workshops that meet the unique needs of participants in the Stepping Stones programme.
Our workshops equip individuals with the tools to move closer towards finding a sustainable job, whilst also building confidence and resilience – skills that are valuable not only in the workplace but in everyday life.”
The workshops are delivered face-to-face and take place in a relaxed and interactive environment via a series of group sessions.
The Resilience & Bouncing Forward workshop is all about personal resilience, equipping participants with the tools to recover and bounce back from stressful situations. Building resilience is not only beneficial in the workplace but also in daily life, so the workshop focuses on equipping individuals with tools and strategies to enhance resilience, manage stress in healthy ways, and prevent burnout.
The Work-Life Balance and Staying Energised workshop looks at increasing learners’ awareness of how to balance their work and personal life. It introduces strategies to help individuals achieve balance in all areas of life, too, and explores how to maintain high energy levels, feel positive in a busy working environment, and have energy left over at the end of the working day.
In fast-paced working environments with high demands and frequent changes, resilience training equips employees to adapt quickly and cope with stress. This enables them to thrive in uncertain and challenging situations.
Both workshops take a holistic approach; impacting personal growth by promoting work-life balance and encouraging a mindset of continuous improvement.
