Complete Skills Solutions (CSS) have welcomed Wendy Spencer as their newest board member. The appointment will see Wendy work closely with the CSS team to share her wealth of knowledge and experience and advise them, as they continue to strive to offer life-changing training across the Liverpool City Region and others across the country.

Starting her career in the banking industry, Wendy gained a strong grounding and developed fundamental skills that she has utilised throughout her career. With a professional focus on sales and business development, and a personal focus on customer experience, Wendy qualified as a Trainer and enjoyed delivering training of regulated and non-regulated products all over the country. Becoming one of the happiest times in her banking career, Wendy then went on to be a regulator and quality assessor for a team of sales advisors across the North-West.

After almost 25 years with Lloyds TSB, Wendy went on to join GBPartnerships where she now leads the Group Services operations team, HR, IT, Quality, CSR, Social Value, and internal and external communications functions across the company as ‘Group Services and Quality Director’.

Five years ago, Wendy co-founded the gbp foundation with the goal of giving back to local communities. To date, the foundation has donated more than £100,000 to local charities and organisations close to the hearts of the gbp team. Through her detailed knowledge of business development, coupled with her unwavering passion for CSR and social value, Wendy is set to be a great asset to the CSS team.

“I can’t tell you how pleased I am to be appointed as the newest board member for Complete Skills Solutions. Throughout my career I have had the privilege of working with many incredible people and communities of all different walks of life. Part of what drives me is making a difference in any way I can to the people I interact with.

“I believe in equal opportunities through education. Every route through education, whether it be traditional or non-traditional, should allow you to achieve something and once you have achieved your potential, everyone should then give back to the local community in some way.  I am now fortunate enough to have reached a stage in my life and career where I can explore ways in which I can give back. Following many conversations with Ian, managing director of Complete Skills Solutions, and seeing that our beliefs and visions of adding social value back into the community aligned, I knew that becoming a board member was the perfect step for me.
